MY STORY

My name is Maria, and I am a passionate violinist who loves sharing  the beauty of music with others. I have always loved music. Just before turning 5 years old, I started taking lessons with Simonne Tingley. She has been a wonderful teacher who has patiently endured my wrong notes,  incorrect rhythms, and bad form. She has guided me from learning to play solo, to learning how to perform in small ensembles, to playing in big orchestras. I am still taking lessons from her over 11 years later. 

As you can see from the pictures below, I have played at churches, in front of a local ice cream shop for many summer weekends, at farmer's markets, in large concert halls, and even for my puppy. Over the years I have been in various orchestras including the former Fox River Symphony  Orchestra (which was my first orchestra experience at the age of 7), Aurora Youth Symphony Orchestra, Youth Symphony of DuPage, Northern Illinois Sinfonia, and most recently the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra. I have also played with small chamber ensembles.
